E. Catherine Barclay Scholarship
One award of $7,500 will be offered in alternate years to a student in any faculty at the University of Calgary who intends to pursue studies at either the Université de Bourgogne (University of Burgundy) in Dijon, or the Université François Rabelais in Tours (France).
Eligibility:
- Full-time student who intends to pursue studies at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon or the Université François Rabelais in Tours, France.
- Applicants must undertake to enroll as a full-time student.
- The award will be based on academic merit.
- Sufficient ability in oral and written French to allow the pursuit of studies in that language.
- Extra-curricular activities exhibiting qualities of good citizenship and a demonstration of concern for others will be taken into consideration.

French Undergraduate Scholarship
Value: Up to $800
Offered annually to a continuing, undergraduate student in the Faculty of Arts, majoring in French.
Awarded on the basis of academic merit (minimum 3.2 GPA)

Two awards offered annually. The award value is variable (approx. $900 in 2011-12).
- Offered to undergraduate students in any faculty.
- The award is based on academic merit.
- To be eligible, students must be pursuing a major or minor in Spanish, or must have a specific academic interest in Spain.
- Applicants must be enrolled in an official U of C exchange program in Spain. Application deadline is May 26, 2012.
- YOur application must include: a short resume, a copy of your transcripts, a cover letter describing your interest in studying in Spain and two letters of recommendation.
