In Memoriam: Emily Gillen

Emily GillenWe announce with great sadness that Dr. Emily Gillen has passed away in August 2012. Emily joined the University of Calgary in 2003 as Assistant Professor of Spanish. She completed her PhD in Hispanic Literature and Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she also finished Master of Arts degrees in Anthropology and in Hispanic Literature and Linguistics.

Our most sincere thoughts go out to Emily's family. Donations towards an education fund for Emily's daughter may be made to Bright Directions, P.O. Box 82623, Lincoln, NE 68501 (please specify the beneficiary, Beatrice E. Ballou) and to the Cancer Connection, 41 Locust Street, Northampton, MA 01060. More ...
